Mico
"Mico is the sound guy in Brawlywood, but one could be forgiven for thinking he's actually a celebrity given all the bragging and name-dropping. Hot-tempered and unstable, he cannot take a joke. Don't ever call him funny..."
Class: Assassin
Rarity: Mythic
Trio: Brawlywood with Lola and Gray
Best skin: Wukong Mico
Mastery title: "Am I a joke to you?"

Mico is an assassin with great mobility and excels in 1v1 interactions. However, his main attack has a slow reload speed and relatively low damage, making him bad against high health brawlers and relatively easy to pinch out.

Health: 3500 to 7000
Movement speed: Very Fast

Main Attack: Mic BOOM!
"Mico jumps forward for a short distance attacking with his mic boom and damaging nearby enemies after landing."
Damage: 1140 to 2280
Range: Normal
Reload Speed: Very Slow
Mico's main attack is a short-ranged jump that deals damage upon landing in a small area. It provides him with excellent mobility, being able to hop over terrain to quickly get across the map. Since he is immune to damage while in the air, it is also hard to stop him once he gets close, as he is immune for most of the time he is dealing damage. However, this attack comes with the massive caveat of having an incredibly slow reload speed, requiring efficient use of your ammo.

Super: Out Of Frame
"Mico jumps out of frame, becoming invulnerable while controlling his landing position and damaging nearby enemies while landing."
Damage: 1190 to 2380
Duration: 6 seconds
Mico's super has him pause for a moment, then jump into the air, becoming invulnerable and not able to attack but still able to move with an indicator showing where he will land. He deals damage and also knocks back nearby enemies upon landing. He gains a large movement speed boost during his super, allowing him to easily close down his targets. It is great for focusing down a specific enemy, and can be an incredibly impactful mobility tool if used correctly. Mico also heals and regains his ammo while he is in the air, giving him an extra chance to recover before he lands. However, he is completely untargetable during his super, which can be a bad aspect if used while your teammates is dead, as nothing will stop the enemies from achieving the objective.

Gadget 1: Clipping Scream
"Mico lets out a deafening scream towards the nearest enemy dealing 570 damage and slowing enemies down for 2 seconds on hit."
Cooldown: 15 seconds
This gadget fires out 3 spread-out projectile towards the nearest enemy that deal decent damage and slow on hit. This is an overall very useful gadget for Mico, allowing him to finish off low-HP brawlers when he runs out of ammo, as all the projectiles will hit if he is on top of them. It is also great if used at long range, as the slow can allow Mico and his teammates to close down and secure the kill on the enemy much easier.

Gadget 2: Presto
"Mico's next jump has 34% longer range."
Cooldown: 14 seconds
This gadget overall provides a lackluster buff to Mico's next attack, giving it slightly longer range. This can be useful for closing down enemies quicker, however his other gadget provides much more value and versatility to his kit.

Star Power 1: Monkey Business
"Every 5 seconds, Mico's basic attack steals ammo from his enemies after hitting them."
This star power allows Mico to slightly offset his biggest weakness, which is his slow reload speed. The additional ammo changes numerous interactions, allowing him to secure kills much easier. It also helps him survive more interactions, removing one ammo from brawlers hit. Make sure to wait for the attack to charge up before engaging on the enemy.

Star Power 2: Record Smash
"Mico deals 100% extra damage against non-Brawlers."
This star power is only useful in Heist, however it makes Mico an incredibly strong brawler there. He can crack a shield in only 5 pieces of ammo, since he can deal over 4000 damage per shot to the safe. With his incredible mobility with both his main attack and super, it allows him to put a ton of pressure on the enemy team, forcing them to constantly be on defense.

Hypercharge: Sound Check
"Mico's Super also stuns nearby enemies after landing for 1.5 seconds."
Charge rate: 2 supers
This is a solid hypercharge for Mico, making it much easier to kill enemies he hits with his super, as they cannot move or attack him. It also has a relatively fast charge rate, being only 2 supers. However, he often wastes his hypercharge duration while he is in the air, not getting maximum value out of the stat boosts. This is why it is best to use his super right before the end of his hypercharge, to get both the stat boosts and enhanced super.

Gear selection:
Mico's best gears and shield and damage, as they allow him to survive and win many more interactions with the extra health and damage at low HP.

Other good abilities to buy:

Best Matchups:
Mico is one of the best counters to artillery brawlers in the game, as he can hop over their walls and get right on top of them, being immune to their attacks most of the time. Brawlers such as Grom, Ziggy, and Sprout can do almost nothing to defend themselves against Mico unless they are incredibly skillful or lucky.

Best Counters:
Mico is countered by brawlers with high health and high burst damage, as it is very hard to Mico to kill them and they can burst him down in an instant. Bull, RT in his split form, and Shelly can instantly burst down Mico long before he has the chance to unload all of his ammo. Their attacks also have almost no delay, allowing them to easily time their shots, firing exactly when Mico lands.

Best Game Modes:
Mico is a great attacker in Heist with his Record Smash star power, allowing him to deal a ton of damage on the safe with just a few pieces of ammo. His mobility also makes him even stronger in this mode, being able to jump around to get to the safe or even just use his super to directly land on it. This often forces enemies to defend him most of the match, making it hard for them to get damage on their safe. He can also be quite good in Knockout due to his super being amazing for 1v2 scenarios, and his ability to counter throwers and squishy brawlers if they get out of position.

Tips and Tricks:
-
Use Mico's jumps at the start of the game to establish position on the map and put pressure on the enemy team. He will likely survive, as he has a very fast movement speed and can jump to dodge high damage projectiles.
-
Mico is a very matchup reliant brawler, meaning that you have to focus on your favorable matchups and do your best to stay away from your bad matchups.
-
Mico is an incredibly strong 1v1 brawler, but struggles against multiple enemies with his slow reload speed. Try to focus on isolated enemies to jump.
-
If there are multiple enemies around you, use one ammo to jump on them, then jump out to charge your super and damage them a bit.
-
A great tip is to calculate how much damage you can do with 3 ammo(4 with his Monkey Business star power) to see what HP threshold you need enemies to be at in order for you to kill them. Try to take into account damage reduction and healing abilities, as this may change your calculations. This is very important since if Mico runs out of ammo and can't kill his target, it is relatively easy for them to kill him since he is right next to them and doesn't have the highest HP.
-
When Monkey Business is charged up, you don't have to save it for hitting an enemy brawler. You can use the jump to gain position, and wait for it to charge back up, as it only takes 5 seconds.
-
When playing Mico in Heist, attacking the safe is your number one priority. Don't defend or go for kills, as your damage on the safe is much more impactful. The fact that you don't have Monkey Business equipped for the extra ammo makes him much worse against enemy brawlers, as he is often reliant on the extra ammo for damage and kills.
-
Make sure to use Clipping Scream in Heist, as it also deals double damage with Record Smash equipped, allowing Mico to deal even more damage to the safe.
-
Mico's super has a delay when you use it, so make sure to use it when you know you won't die in order to not waste. You can use it at low HP, as you both heal and recover ammo while in the air.
-
With Mico's hypercharge, try to use his super at the end of his hypercharge duration as to not waste the stat boosts. However, this isn't completely necessary.
-
Make sure to attack as soon as you can after landing with Mico super, since most enemies try to pre-fire their shots before you land. Attacking immediately after you land makes it much harder for them to hit you, as there are only a few frames where you can get hit.
-
When going aggressive, you can use some of your ammo for mobility and evasion, but make sure to always save some to engage on the enemy.
-
Mico's jumps are also great for disengaging fights, hopping behind walls to regain ammo and health.
