R-T

"R-T is designed to be a helpful information kiosk, but he's also been given the task of monitoring all activity within Starr Park. For safety reasons, of course."

Class: Damage Dealer

Rarity: Mythic

Trio: Starr Security with Larry & Lawrie

Best skin: Gargoyle R-T

Mastery title: "The Watcher"

R-T is a long ranged brawler whose attacks increase the next point of damage dealt to the enemies. His super allows him to split, dropping his legs and gaining a high-damage close range attack, allowing him to be a great counter to aggressive brawlers while having solid range.

Health: 3900 to 7800

Movement speed: Normal or Very Fast(split form)

Trait: Can float over water when in split form.

Main Attack: Tap Target

"R-T fires a single projectile, that upon impact with a brawler marks them. Any damage dealt to a marked target consumes the mark and deals extra damage."

Damage: 700 to 1400

Mark Damage: 700 to 1400

Mark Duration: 5 seconds

Range: Very Long

Reload Speed: Normal

R-T's main attack fires out a long-ranged thin projectile that doesn't deal much damage. However, it marks enemies for 5 seconds, increasing the damage of the next point of damage that hits them. It is great when combined with poke style brawlers, as they will trigger the mark's damage more often.

Super: Hide And Seek

"R-T splits into two. R-T's legs are left behind while both R-T and his legs gain a short ranged, powerful attack that marks enemies. R-T moves faster while split."

When R-T uses his super, he drops his legs behind, which have the same amount of health as his normal form but gain a 30% damage reduction shield. If his legs die, R-T also dies. His legs can also heal up, just like any other brawler. R-T gains a new main attack and super

in split form, along with increased movement speed.

Split Main Attack: Eat Static

"R-T and his legs blast a strong signal, damaging all targets around them. Both R-T and his legs can still mark targets."

Damage: 1240 to 2480

Mark Damage: 700 to 1400

Mark Duration: 5 seconds

Range: Short

Reload Speed: Normal

R-T's split main attack fires out a short ranged circle attack that instantly deals damage around both him and his legs. They both also apply the mark, allowing R-T to do a crazy amount of close range damage in just 2 shots if both him and his legs hit the same target.

Super: Radar Waves

"R-T instantly teleports to his legs and becomes whole again, healing for 1000."

R-T's split super teleports him back to his leg's location and heals a small amount of health. The health he remains at after teleporting is the health of his top half, not his legs. He regains his normal main attack and super after teleporting back. It's great for escaping out of sticky situations or when you need to get back into his ranged form, however make sure there aren't too many enemies around his legs when you teleport back.

Gadget 1: Out Of Line

"Instantly charges R-T's Super."

Cooldown: 20 seconds

This gadget is simple but incredibly strong, allowing R-T to instantly get his super at any point in the match. This allows for him to not have to build it up normally, which can take a while due to how hard it is to hit his shots. It is also great in split form, allowing you to get back to normal form if the enemies get away and you didn't recharge your super. Note that this gadget does not charge R-T's hypercharge at all.

Gadget 2: Hacks!

"Instantly trigger all active marks on all enemy brawlers, dealing their damage."

Cooldown: 15 seconds

This gadget is great for securing kills with R-T on long-ranged maps, allowing for him to kill marked brawlers if they fall low. It is also great for stopping enemies from regenerating their health, and can force them back farther into their spawn.

Star Power 1: Quick Maths

"Marks created last 3 seconds longer."

This is a solid star power, giving a large duration boost to his marks. This makes it so that enemies have to wait even longer before they go away, either having them take more damage or making them play more defensive due to being marked for longer.

Star Power 2: Recording

"R-T and his legs take 20% less damage when split."

This star power is incredibly strong if R-T ever uses his split form, giving his already high HP top and legs damage reduction. His legs now have a 50% damage reduction, making them incredibly hard to kill at full HP. The extra health on R-T's top also makes it much easier for him to survive interactions and go more aggressive.

Hypercharge: 360-Degree Surveillance

"Damaging security lasers surround R-T and his legs after using a Hypercharged Super."

Charge rate: 4 supers

R-T's hypercharge can take a while to get, but it is incredibly powerful. When used, it spawns 2 layers of 4 orbiting lasers around both R-T and his legs, dealing 700 damage each time they pass through an enemy. However, these lasers also mark enemies, and the mark's damage is the same as his main attack, adding 1400 extra damage each time it hits an enemy. The speed boost also allows him to catch up to enemies much easier, making his hypercharge pretty much a death zone for any enemy around him or his legs. Walls won't even protect them, as the lasers go through walls as well. However,

R-T's hypercharge does nothing if he isn't split, so make sure that you are in split form before you use his hypercharge.

Gear selection:

R-T's best gears overall are health and shield, as they give him solid survivability boosts. He already has high HP, giving health gear a lot of value, and with the damage reduction from his Recording star power, shield gear also gains more value. Damage gear may seem good, however it doesn't increase the damage of R-T's marks, giving it less overall value for him.

Best build:

Other good abilities to buy:

Best Matchups:

R-T's insane amount of burst melee damage makes it almost impossible for some brawlers to approach him, as they will instantly get deleted when he splits himself. Short ranged assassins such as Kit, Lily, and Edgar struggle to trade against him, as just one split attack can cripple their low health when they try to go aggressive, and R-T can outrange them easily in his normal form.

Best Counters:

R-T's best overall counters are throwers, as he doesn't have any mobility skills to easily get to them if they are behind walls. Brawlers such as Ziggy or Larry & Lawrie can sit behind walls and zone him out relatively easily, whether he is in split or normal form. Gus is also a solid counter to R-T, as his main attack has a much larger hitbox than R-T's, making it much easier for Gus to hit shots than R-T. Gus's super also makes him or a teammate incredibly tanky, which R-T doesn't like due to his normal shots being hard to hit and his split form not working against ranged brawlers.

Best Game Modes:

R-T's best game mode is Knockout, as he has the range of a marksman with a lot of health, allowing him to survive more interactions. His super and hypercharge are also amazing in the endgame, as the poison forces enemies into a smaller area, allowing him to abuse his split form. He is also good in Bounty and a great defensive brawler for Heist, as he can counter most aggressive picks in these game modes with his super, and still functions as a solid support damage dealer in his normal form.

Tips and Tricks:

  • R-T pairs great with chip brawlers, or brawlers with damage over time, as they can trigger his marks more easily than most brawlers. Great synergies include Gene and Crow. Gene in particular is the best synergy, as he has incredibly long range and coverage, and his super can also pull enemies into R-T, where he can use his split form to burst them down instantly.

  • Unless you are against multiple short ranged brawlers, you should never stay in R-T's split form for extended periods of time, as it has very short range, and enemies can also attack the legs to kill him.

  • R-T has more health than most other brawlers with similar range, allowing him to push into enemies more easily as he can tank more of their shots.

  • R-T's hypercharge can be used if he is already in his split form. This means that it is often better to use his super then hypercharge to save its duration.

  • Try not to use R-T's super on low health, as his legs have the same amount of health as his normal form whenever he splits, so enemies can take it out much more easily.

  • Try to use R-T's hypercharge on as many enemies as possible, as it can almost always kill enemies that are in range of the lasers. Also try to use it when you are high on health, as you will often be taking a lot of damage while using the hypercharge, and having the extra HP can prevent you from dying.
