Melodie
"When it comes to Karaoke, Melodie shows no mercy. Armed with her kawaii looks and devilish set of pipes, she never fails to steal the limelight."
Class: Assassin
Rarity: Mythic
Trio: Karaoke with Jae-yong
Best skin: Harpy Melodie
Record title: "Fearless"

Melodie is a high skill assassin whose kit centers around her revolving notes. She also has incredibly high mobility, however she can be volatile and easily killed if not in the hands of a skilled player, as it is tricky to maximize her damage and mobility.

Health: 3800 to 7600
Movement speed: Normal

Main Attack: Monster Notes
"Melodie shoots tiny monster notes from her mic, damaging enemies and spawning orbiting notes around her on hit."
Damage: 460 to 920
Range: Long
Note Damage: 920 to 1840
Note Duration: 8 seconds
Reload Speed: Normal
Melodie's main attack fires out a fast projectile with relatively long range, but very low damage. With its fast projectile speed, it makes it very easy for Melodie to auto-aim her shots. However, the main gimmick of her attack is that it spawns a clockwise revolving note around her whenever it hits an enemy, up to three at a time, lasting 8 seconds for each note. If she hits an enemy when she has three notes, the one closest to expiration has its duration refreshed. These notes are her main damage source, being a little bit away from her hitbox. This means that enemies at point-blank range will not get hit by her notes, but if they are just a little bit away from Melodie, they will take a ton of damage.

Super: Catchy Chorus
"Melodie can dash forward multiple times to catch her enemies."
Range: Normal
Charges: 3
Melodie's super is a quick mid-ranged dash. It doesn't deal any damage, but can be used 3 times in total. Melodie can't charge another super until all 3 charges are used up, and if she dies with 1 or 2 charges left, her super is fully reset when she spawns back. This super overall provides Melodie with incredibly high mobility since it can be used 3 times in different directions, allowing her to get around the map very fast. However, it deals absolutely no damage. The only way to get the super to deal damage is if you have some notes around yourself and clip enemies while dashing. This is a great way to get a lot of damage on enemies, as you can often get 1 or 2 notes to connect on enemies if you dash beside them at the right distance.

Gadget 1: Perfect Pitch
"Melodie's notes get 25% increased movement speed and 60% wider orbit for 5 seconds."
Cooldown: 14 seconds
This gadget makes all of Melodie's notes have much longer range, allowing her notes to hit enemies that are much further away. However, this gadget makes her very vulnerable at close range, since she doesn't have her notes to deal damage to melee enemies anymore. It is best used when you are able to get brawlers low, as this gadget can often catch them off guard when they are running away from you.

Gadget 2: Interlude
"Melodie gains 10% Shield from each note orbiting her."
Cooldown: 19 seconds
This gadget provides a decaying shield with 10% of Melodie's max HP for each note around her. This gadget is incredibly useful for the additional survivability it can provide Melodie when going in with her super, as she has relatively low health for an assassin and can get easily killed while dashing. It is best used when you have max notes to get a high health shield, and is incredibly strong when paired with her hypercharge as well.

Star Power 1: Fast Beats
"Melodie gains 6% increased movement speed from each note orbiting her."
This is a crucial star power for Melodie's kit, giving her movement speed boosts based on how many notes she has. This movement speed boost drastically increases her map presence, allowing her to dodge many more shots and close down enemies much easier. It also synergizes great with her hypercharge with the extra notes it provides giving her an even larger speed boost.

Star Power 2: Extended Mix
"Melodie's notes last for 25% longer before vanishing."
This is an overall not very good star power, only giving her notes a slight duration boost, which can sometimes be a bad thing. The notes can reveal Melodie in bushes, and having them last longer can reveal her for longer. Melodie is also very reliant on the constant speed boost from her other star power, making this one redundant.

Hypercharge: Flash Mob
"Melodie adds up to 3 Hypercharge notes using Catchy Chorus. Hypercharge notes do 600 damage."
Charge rate: 4 supers
Melodie's hypercharge makes her super add an extra note for each use. These notes deal much less damage, but synergize amazingly with her star power and gadget. The extra notes allow for Interlude to provide a shield with up to 60% of Melodie's max health, and Fast Beats to provide a 36% movement speed boost, both of which are huge for Melodie's survivability and mobility. However, the slow charge rate can be a problem for less skilled Melodie users, and they can easily waste the hypercharge by suiciding into the enemy team.

Gear selection:
Melodie's best gear is shield, as it gives her some much needed extra health when she dashes in, allowing her to survive more interactions. Health is her next best gear choice, as the faster health recovery allows for her to have less downtime in between engages. It also synergizes well with her notes, since if she is healing up faster, she may still have notes available once she is full health.

Best Matchups:
Melodie is great into squishy brawlers with no mobility, as she can easily kite and assassinate them with her super and notes. She is also good against throwers as long as she gets her super, as they can't do much once she dashes onto them. Brawlers such as Byron, Bo, and Emz can get easily assassinated most of the time by Melodie, and she even has decent range with her main attack, making it harder for them to push into her. Melodie is great into Emz and Bo in particular, as Melodie can easily trip Bo's mines with her super and fast movement speed with Fast Beats, and Melodie can re-dash into Emz after she uses her knockback.

Best Counters:
Melodie is countered by brawlers with high burst damage, as they can instantly delete her the moment she tries to go in with her super. Brawlers such as Chester and R-T are great against her for these reasons. Cordelius is also an excellent counter to Melodie with his high damage, but more importantly, his super completely removes Melodie's notes upon entry and exit, making it an incredibly hard matchup for Melodie to win, especially since she can't use her super to escape in the shadow realm.

Best Game Modes:
Melodie is an incredibly dangerous brawler in Heist due to her being able to charge up her notes by hitting the safe. She can shred through the safe very quickly with her notes, and can even get to the safe easily with her super. She is also an incredibly efficient goal scorer in Brawl Ball, being able to easily punish enemy mistakes and turn them into goals, especially in overtime. She can also be a solid Bounty or Hot Zone brawler to counter squishy brawlers with low burst , as she does great into them and a good Melodie user can also make her good into tanks as well.

Tips and Tricks:
-
Since Melodie's notes revolve around her clockwise, you want to move counterclockwise around an enemy to maximize note damage on them. This is most useful in Heist, allowing her to accumulate tons of damage on the safe.
-
Melodie's notes are completely passive, persisting while she is healing, or even if she gets stunned or crowd controlled. This means it is good to often heal up with Melodie, as she will still have her notes around her.
-
If you want to get damage with Melodie's super, firstly make sure you have notes surrounding you, as many as possible. Then try to dash on the right side of the enemy at the distance her notes revolve, as this will allow for more notes to connect on them. Additionally, try to end the dash at this distance as well, as it can allow for her notes to accumulate more damage after dashing.
-
Make sure to always use all 3 of Melodie's supers, as you can't charge another one until you use them all, and if you die with 1 or 2 charges, you will respawn with nothing.
-
Melodie is a brawler who is very reliant on her mobility in games, making her not a brawler the average player should pick up, as it takes a lot of skill to use her to her full potential.
-
Melodie doesn't necessarily have a bad matchups into tanks, since they often feed her super, as she outranges them and her main attack projectile doesn't do much damage. Additionally, if you use her super and notes correctly, she can quickly burst them down if you super in a triangle patten going counterclockwise around them.
-
Melodie's main attack projectile has quite a long range, making it great for poking down enemies and stopping their health regen. It also has an incredibly fast projectile speed, making it have a very reliable auto-aim.
-
If you are standing right on top of a brawler, your main attack will actually deal its damage plus the damage of one note, as they spawn from inside her hitbox and move away very quickly. This trick can be useful to get extra damage off on enemies that are very close to you.
-
If you don't have a lot of notes but need to go in with Melodie, alternate her main attack and super to gain notes and position quickly and efficiently.
-
In some scenarios, it can be very beneficial to use all of Melodie's super right after respawning, as she can get back to the center of the map almost instantly, and even has the invincibility shield for a moment. This can be great to re-establish position or secure objectives in modes such as Gem Grab or Hot Zone, however she spawns with only 1 ammo, making her have little damage after dashing up.
-
When using Melodie's hypercharge, it is very important that you have her Interlude gadget off cooldown, and use it when you have at least 4 notes surrounding her. This massively boosts her survivability, allowing her to potentially dash into multiple enemies.
-
When dashing in with Melodie, make sure to keep track of enemy ammo and abilities, as you don't want to dash in and instantly die. Pick your moments carefully and make the most of them.
-
Melodie has incredibly dribble potential in Brawl Ball, as she has 3 charges of her super, and their dash range is almost exactly the dribble distance of the ball. Common combos include: pass, dash, pass dash, superkick; and superkick, 2 dashes, pass. This makes her an incredibly dangerous brawler in this mode, as if she is able to make an escape with the ball and her super charged, it is almost a guaranteed goal. This aspect of her becomes even stronger in overtime, as the map and goal become opened up, making it even easier to dribble up the map and score.
