Bo
“Bo has survived in the Rumble Jungle for a long time. It's all the more impressive considering he's been using toys he got on sale from the Gift Shop."
Class: Controller
Rarity: Epic
Trio: Shaman with Nita and Leon
Best skin: Underworld Bo
Title: "One with nature"
Prestige Title: "Patience is the key"
Bo is a brawler with very solid overall stats. He has good range, damage, health, and his super places down mines, which have great area control and damage, and can be a guaranteed kill with his star power equipped.
Health: 3800 to 7600
Movement speed: Normal
Main Attack: Eagle-Eyed
"Bo releases a trio of exploding arrows, tearing up enemies like an eagle's talons."
Damage: 3 x 640 to 1280
Range: Long
Reload speed: Normal
Bo's main attack fires out 3 arrows, going from left to right. They also have slight splash damage, being able to hit multiple enemies if they are close enough. It has good range damage, and reload speed.
Super: Catch A Fox
"Bo hides explosive traps in the ground. When triggered by an enemy, the traps explode after a short delay, knocking back and damaging enemies."
Damage: 3 x 1440 to 2880
Charge Rate: 9 projectiles
Recharge Rate: 3 hits
Range: Long
Bo super is incredibly annoying to deal with, as the enemies cannot see the mines except for when they are first placed. They also break walls around them when they explode. If the enemies are not aware of where the mines are, they are an almost guaranteed hit on them, dealing a lot of damage knocking them back, and charging a large amount of Bo's super back. However, it is possible to trip them if you walk close enough for them to trigger and then walk the opposite direction.
Gadget 1: Super Totem
"Bo places a totem that increases allies' Super charging rate by 50%. The totem slowly loses its health over time."
Cooldown: 19 seconds
Health: 2000(max level)
Duration: 20 seconds
This is a solid gadget, as it has a good radius and provides a ton of extra super and hypercharge charge. It lasts 20 seconds, and can get great value if used behind a wall. It can also be used to tank a big projectile, similar to other spawns. Since its duration is the same as its cooldown, it can essentially be permanently on the ground as long as it doesn't get taken out.
Gadget Buffie
"The totem has significantly increased radius."
This is an incredibly strong buffie, giving the totem much more value due to it essentially doubling its effective area. This allows for Bo and his teammates to have the increased super charge in a much larger area, and for Bo to place it in a safer location and still get value out of it.
Gadget 2: Tripwire
"Bo fires tripwires at his mines, detonating them and causing the same mine damage and effects to anyone hit by a tripwire."
Cooldown: 8 seconds
This can be a pretty good gadget if timed correctly, as the mines are completely undetectable when this gadget is used. You can often catch the enemy off guard with this gadget, as they may try to disarm the mines and end up getting hit by them if you time the gadget properly. It is also great in Heist for triggering the mines on the safe without relying on an enemy to walk over them. The arrows shot out can also provide some solid knockback and damage, sometimes pushing enemies into the mines if positioned correctly.
Gadget Buffie
"Detonated mines have a bigger blast radius!"
This is a strong buffie for Tripwire, making it much easier to have the mines explode on enemies. This is incredibly useful for the extra damage, crowd control, and super charge.
Star Power 1: Circling Eagle
"Bo spots enemies hidden in bushes from 150% longer distance than normally."
This is an extremely situational star power, as it is game changing on some maps, but completely useless on others. You should only really get this star power if you have too many coins on your hands, but it can sometimes provide value.
Star Buffie
"Bo is no longer revealed when attacking from bushes."
This is a solid buffie effect, especially for this star power, since you will be using on bushy maps. Not being able to see Bo makes it much harder for enemies to track him or know how much health he is at, which can be useful. However, the star power itself is simply too situational to justify purchasing.
Star Power 2: Snare A Bear
"Instead of a knockback, Bo's traps now stun the enemy for 2 seconds!"
This is an amazing star power for Bo, as it turns his mines from things that can deal some decent damage into a guaranteed kill if the enemies walk over them. The stun duration is so long, and the mines already deal so much damage, meaning that disarming the mines is incredibly important, as you will often lose the game if you can't find where the mines are.
Star Buffie
"Significantly increases trap placement speed."
This is essentially a useless buffie, since the increased placement speed does almost nothing since it is already pretty fast, and doesn't increase its damage in any way. It can be decent against inattentive enemies who aren't able to see the mines since they are placed faster, but is useless against competent players.
Hypercharge: Catch a Bear
"Bo's Super deploys 5 mines instead of 3. These do not override any mines already placed by his Super, so it is possible to have more than 7 mines on the map!"
Charge rate: 2 and 1/2 supers
Bo has a great hypercharge, as it charges relatively fast and makes the enemy have to keep track of 2 sets of mines instead of just 1. The mines also have a permanent damage increase from the hypercharge buff, making them even more deadly. The increased damage and mine count make the hypercharged super capable of dealing over 10,000 total damage, which is why Bo is usable in Heist, as can heavily chunk down the safe's HP.
Hyper Buffie
"Bo's main attack shoots a 4th arrow, and each arrow has increased area damage radius."
This is an incredibly strong hyper buffie for Bo, heavily increasing his burst potential and area coverage with the additional arrow and increased blast radius. Bo can now deal almost 6000 damage with each shot if all arrows connect, which is a devastating amount of damage. The increased explosion radius also makes his attacks much more effective at range, allowing him to consistently hit more arrows.
Gear selection:
Damage and shield is Bo's best overall gear loadout, complementing his balanced kit well. If you are playing Bo for his Circling Eagle star power on bushy maps, use vision and speed gear to gain even more of an advantage.

Best Matchups:
Bo is a brawler that doesn't really have any particular brawler or brawler archetype that he counters, as he does just decent into most things. His best matchup is probably 8-Bit, as he is super slow, meaning Bo's mines are an almost guaranteed hit on him. He can also be pretty good into some marksmen, such as Nani and Belle, as they have low mobility, and he can tank their attacks with his Super Totem gadget.
Best Counters:
Bo is countered best by assassins, as they have high mobility to easily disarm his mines, and he doesn't have the best burst damage against them. Good examples of this are Kenji and Mortis, as they have high mobility and can easily dodge his super and attacks. Edgar can also be a good counter since Bo doesn't have the best burst damage to deal with Edgar after he gets jumped, and Edgar has a fast movement speed to help him disarm Bo's mines.
Best Game Modes:
Bo can be used in pretty much every game mode due to his great generalist stats, however he shines most in Hot Zone, Heist, and Gem Grab. Bo's mines are great for controlling the zone in Hot Zone and his hypercharged mines can do a ton of damage to the safe in Heist. He is great in Gem Grab as a gem carrier thanks to him being a generalist, and his mines help control the gem mine or other choke points.
Tips and Tricks:
-
If you want to spread out your shots with Bo, move to the right while shooting to have his arrows cover a larger area. If you want to concentrate them, move to the left while shooting to have them all go to the same spot.
-
Use the spread out shot with Bo when trying to hit either a fast brawler or a brawler with low HP, as it makes his shots more reliable. Use the concentrated shot when you are shooting a stationary or slowed target, or when you want to hit all of your arrows.
-
Try to place your mines in a choke point or important spot on the map where enemies are most likely going to walk. Also try to place the mines when there are no visible enemies, so they can't trip them.
-
For even an average player, Bo's mines are very easy to disarm with enough practice. This is why it is often better to use Bo's mines defensively, as the longer they are on the field, the more likely the enemies will forget where they are and run over them.
-
Brawler movement speed plays a big role in determining how easy it is for them to disarm Bo's mines. Fast brawlers or brawlers with a dash can easily trip the mines, while it is almost impossible for slow brawlers to disarm them without getting hit by them.
-
Bo is a great generalist who can be played on almost every map and mode. This is thanks to his solid range, damage, health, control, and map presence. However, he doesn't excel in any of these areas, so he is a very safe brawler to go. This makes him best used as a first pick in Ranked.
-
In Heist, Bo is one of the few brawlers who can technically avoid the safe's shield, since if you use Tripwire on your mines(both normal and hypercharged), they will all detonate instantly, making the safe's not block any additional damage, allowing for all the mines to deal their damage.
-
When using Bo's hypercharged super, try to avoid placing the hypercharged mines in the same place as the normal mines. Spread out the mines across choke points to either have the enemies be unaware of the mines and run over them, or have them spend a long time trying to disarm all of them.
-
If you have Bo's Super Totem gadget buffie, make sure to place the turret relatively far back and not in range of enemy fire, preferrable behind a wall. The turret has a massive radius, so Bo and his team will still be able to get solid value out of it if it is placed far back.
