Griff
"Griff acts like a rich, successful entrepreneur, but his only business is the failing Starr Park Gift Shop. Oddly, he's never around when the bank calls."
Class: Controller
Rarity: Epic
Trio: Gift Shop with Edgar and Collette
Best skin: Intergalactic Griff
Mastery title: "The Greedy"

Griff is a mid-range brawler with insane damage output at pretty much all ranges. He also has the ability to break open walls and passively heal himself. However, he can get outranged pretty easily, and has a relatively slow main projectile.

Health: 3400 to 6800
Movement speed: Normal

Main Attack: Coin Toss
"Angry Griff pelts opponents with coins. He throws three salvos that spread out in a cone."
Damage: 9 x 280 to 560
Range: Long
Reload speed: Normal
Griff's main attack fire 9 coins in 3 waves at a decently long range. They deal a ton of damage if they all connect, and even if they don't, they still do a lot of damage. However, the delay in between waves is quite large, leading to him unloading quite slow. Additionally, the coins themselves also travel quite slow, making them quite easy to dodge.

Super: Catch A Fox
"Griff throws a bunch of sharp-edged banknotes in a wide cone. Too valuable to just give away, they return to him, and may cause paper cuts twice to the same target. Opponents further away take more damage."
Damage at minimum range: 5 x 360 to 720
Damage at maximum range: 5 x 720 to 1440
Range: Long
Griff's super covers a massive cone-shaped area, and deals a ton of damage. It is best used at either point-blank or maximum range, as the bank notes are guaranteed to hit enemies twice. When they return, they can also go through walls.

Gadget 1: Piggy Bank
"Griff drops a firecracker-filled piggy bank that, after a short delay, explodes destroying obstacles and dealing 1400 damage to opponents within range."
Cooldown: 16 seconds
This gadget is incredibly useful for Griff, as it allows him to be a consistent wallbreaker to help him and his team to open up the map. Griff also does great on an open map with his super, making this gadget perfect for him.

Gadget 2: Coin Shower
"Griff's next Coin Toss shoots 33% more coins."
Cooldown: 11 seconds
This is not a very good gadget, as it only slightly increases the damage of Griff's next main attack. It doesn't add anything to his kit, making it the inferior gadget.

Star Power 1: Keep The Change
"Furious Griff tosses coins faster, reducing the time for a full salvo by 25%."
This can be a useful star power when going up against tanks or on a bushy map, as it increases the burst damage of Griff's main attack. However, it doesn't fix the main problem with has main attack, which is its slow projectile speed.

Star Power 2: Business Resilience
"Every 2 seconds, Griff regains up to 15% of his missing health."
This is a very unique star power, giving Griff the ability to passively heal himself as long as he is alive. He can continue to attack while getting healed up, and this star power allows him to be great at maintaining pressure, even if he is taking damage.

Hypercharge: Tax Rebate
"Griff's banknotes multiply at max range before returning, with the newly created banknotes after a delay. They also pierce the environment."
Charge rate: 3 and 1/3 supers
Speed buff: 25%
Damage buff: 15%
Shield buff: 15%
Griff has a powerful hypercharge, dealing a ton of damage and allowing him to get an easy teamwipe that can also go through walls. However, it can take a while to charge up against skilled players, as they will not feed Griff any charge.

Epic Gear: Reload Speed
This gear increases Griff's reload speed by 15%.

Gear selection:
Griff has many good gear options. Reload gear is definitely the best for him, as it is a really nice general buff. Shield, damage, speed, and vision are all useful however, as he has moderate HP, high damage, does great on bushy maps, and has a ton of projectiles. Overall, the best option for his second gear is damage, however you should try to get more than 2 gears on him.

Other good abilities to buy:

Best Matchups:
Griff destroys tanks with his extremely high damage at any range. He also outranges them, allowing for him to feed off them for free. He rips through Frank and Rosa's high HP. His wallbreak also allows him to counter other short range brawlers, such as Nita, as he shreds through her bear and opening up the map makes it really hard for Nita hit shots.

Best Counters:
Griff is best countered by brawlers that have similar range as him, but either easier to hit shots or high mobility. Stu and Mina are great examples of this as they can both easily dodge his attacks with thier constant dashes, and they both have solid range. Bea also counters him, as Griff will likely start to open up the map, which leads to Bea dominating.

Best Game Modes:
Griff's best modes are Brawl Ball and Hot Zone. His extremely high damage allows him to destroy any tank or aggressive brawler played in these modes, and his passive healing thanks to Business Resilience allows him to stay in the zone for long periods of time in Hot Zone, as he can attack while healing. Griff's high damage also allows him to be a good pick in Heist, as he deals a ton of damage to the safe and can counter most aggressive picks.

Tips and Tricks:
-
With Griff's super, try to hit enemies at either the tip of its range or at point blank range, as each projectile is guaranteed to hit twice.
-
When you use Griff's super, try to position yourself so that the bank notes will recall on enemies as well. The recall also goes through walls, which can be useful to deal extra damage.
-
It is very important to cycle Griff's super, as it can take a while to charge up with just his main attack. Try to hit as many enemies as you can with it.
-
Griff's hypercharge can actually damage enemies 3 time at the end of its range, dealing almost 5000 damage.
-
Griff is a great brawler for breaking open walls, so try to pair him with marksmen that dominate on an open map, such as Bea.
-
Griff's Business Resilience star power makes him able to keep pressure even if his HP is low. This is very useful to buy time and keep control, as he is one of the only brawlers who can passively heal.
-
Griff's Keep The Change star power can be used in bushy maps where you are going up against tanks or assassins, as it increases the burst damage of his main attack, which is useful when you get jumped without your super.
