Lola

"Lola makes sure everyone knows when she enters a room. She's an expert in the fine art of causing a scene to get what she wants, and she's proud of it!"

Class: Damage Dealer

Rarity: Epic

Trio: Brawlywood with Gray and Mico

Best skin: Galaxy Storm Lola

Mastery title: "Drama Queen"

Lola is a general mid-ranged damage dealer that has a ton of projectiles that deal a lot of damage. She is a versatile brawler that can work in most matchups and modes.

Health: 3800 to 7600

Movement speed: Normal

Main Attack: Diamond Eyes

"Lola's favorite accessory is also her favorite weapon! It shoots from the eyes in short bursts and with plenty of panache."

Damage: 6 x 280 to 560

Range: Long

Reload speed: Normal

Lola's main attack shoots 6 projectiles in a large area. It is quite easy to hit, has decent range, and reload quite fast. It is a great general main attack as it doesn't really have any weaknesses.

Super: Megalomaniac

"Lola releases her Ego that mimics her every move. If it's too close to Lola though, it will deal less damage."

Health: 2000 to 4000

Lola's clone is mainly used to simply increase her main attack damage by placing it right on top of her. If placed too far away from Lola, it is very awkward to use, even though it deals more damage. The clone charges her super half as much as Lola herself. The clone has a decent amount of health, but actually moves slightly slower than Lola herself, so it will eventually stray away from her.

Gadget 1: Freeze Frame

"Lola's Ego stops moving to strike a pose! Gaining a 50% shield for 4 seconds."

Cooldown: 11 seconds

This is a solid gadget for Lola, allowing her to take cover behind her clone if needed. The shield is quite strong and lasts for a long time, but the clone not moving is a pretty big disadvantage that you need to account for. However, the cooldown is quite short, making this gadget more valuable.

Gadget 2: Stunt Double

"Lola and her Ego switch locations and recover 1520 health."

Cooldown: 17 seconds

This is an interesting gadget that can occasionally catch enemies off guard, as they won't be expecting Lola to teleport onto or away from them. The healing is alright, but not anything substantial. It also has a slightly longer than average cooldown.

Star Power 1: Improvise

"When down to her last round, Lola deals an extra 30% damage."

This star power can substantially increase Lola's damage, as she is often on her last ammo. Her main attack is much more rewarding to land, and can shred through even tanks. This star power doesn't affect her clone's damage.

Star Power 2: Sealed With A Kiss

"Projectiles from Lola's Ego heal allies that are caught in its path by 223 health."

This star power is also very good, as it increases Lola's survivability by a lot, as the clone can end up healing her over 1300 health if all projectiles connect. They also pierce whoever they heal, allowing for its attack to also deal damage to enemies. Lola can also occasionally attack her teammates, providing some decent healing to them as well.

Hypercharge: Inflated Ego

"Spawns a mega inflated Ego with increased damage and health."

Charge rate: 2 and 6/7 supers

Speed buff: 24%

Damage buff: 25%

Shield buff: 5%

Lola's hypercharge is just a slightly more powerful clone. It has a decent charge rate, but doesn't add much to Lola's overall kit. It still dies quite easily, but the extra damage is quite good.

Epic Gear: Reload

This gear increases Lola's reload speed by 15%.

Gear selection:

As a damage dealer, reload is Lola's best gear, as it allows her eto spam out her main attack more effectively. It also helps her clone shoot more often. Damage is another great gear for her as a damage dealer, and vision gear is also a great option due to the amount of projectiles she has combined with her good spread.

Other good abilities to buy:

Best Matchups:

Lola doesn't really have any particularly good matchups, as she does decent into just about everything with her range and damage. Her best matchups are probably general midrangers without too much splash damage, as she might outrange them and they struggle to deal with her clone. Good examples of this are Chester, Collette, and Surge.

Best Counters:

Lola is countered by splash brawlers who can take advantage of the fact that she places her clone on herself. Penny is by far the best counter, as her splash damage perfectly counters Lola and her super. Jessie and Belle are also great against Lola since their bouncing attacks can ricochet between her and her clone.

Best Game Modes:

Lola is generally good in most game modes, as she has solid damage and control. Her best mode is probably Heist, since she has great and consistent damage, and she is also good in Gem Grab as a solid all-rounder that can hold control well. She can also be good in Hot Zone with her Sealed With A Kiss star power, as the healing can help keep her and her teammates in the zone longer.

Tips and Tricks:

  • Lola's attack may have a wide spread, but it is still best to try to manually aim it to get the most damage.

  • Similar to other multi-projectile brawlers, try to match your movement with the enemies' to get more punishing connections.

  • You usually want to place you super slightly in front of you so it tanks some shots, more with her Freeze Frame gadget. However, don't do this against a Penny as you will almost instantly get killed by her.

  • When using Sealed With A Kiss, place your super slightly behind you to make sure all of its projectiles hit you so you heal as much as possible. It can also replace passive healing, which is very good as you can keep shooting while healing.

  • Lola's Improvise star power is incredibly effective if you are constantly staying at less than 2 ammo. It essentially gives her a 30% damage boost, which is very good. Lola also has a fast reload speed, meaning it is not very punishing to just spam out her shots.

  • Once you get Lola's first super, it is much easier to get your next since your clone will help you charge up your super 50% more.

  • If your clone every strays away from you, move into a wall to get it stacked up with you again.

  • You can place Lola's clone far in front of you to get a solid range extension. This can be very useful  for finishing off kills, just try to get it to come back to you.

  • You mainly want to use Lola's Freeze Frame gadget, as it often provides more value, however Stunt Double can be good at occasionally catching enemies off guard and is a lot more fun to play.
