Maisie
"Maisie works as a safety coordinator, but deep down she enjoys dangerous situations. Sometimes, it almost feels like she has a hand in creating them."
Class: Marksman
Rarity: Epic
Trio: Starr Theatre with Fang and Buster
Best skin: Amazing Maisie
Mastery title: "Master of Disaster"

Maisie is a high damaging long-ranged brawler, however her projectile is very hard to hit. Her super is an area blast around her that knocks back enemies. She has an amazing combo with her super and gadget, which is key to playing her.

Health: 3600 to 7200
Movement speed: Normal

Main Attack: Pressure Rocket
"The further you run, the faster Maisie's rocket will reach you."
Damage: 1500 to 3000
Range: Long
Reload speed: Normal
Maisie's main attack is a high-damaging projectile that starts out moving slow, then speeds up towards the end of its range. It is very hard to consistently hit at long range due to its slow initial projectile speed. It is best used at closer ranges to burst down enemies, as it has a fast unload speed. Maisie's attack is also very bad with auto-aim, as is it very easy to dodge.

Super: Shockwave
"Don't get too close or a personal space will be created for you."
Damage: 1240 to 2480
Range: Short
After a short delay, Maisie fires out a shockwave around her in a circle that deals a lot of damage and knocks back enemies. It can also go through walls. This super is the most important parts of Maisie's kit, as it can be incredibly powerful against short-ranged brawlers, as the super's damage and knockback combined with her main attack's damage can shred through high-health brawlers. It can also be cycled very efficiently if you hit more than 1 enemy, getting potential teamwipes.

Gadget 1: Disengage!
"Maisie blasts the ground, stunning enemies for 0.5 seconds while dashing forward."
Cooldown: 16 seconds
This gadget is another vital part of Maisie's kit, allow her to counter close range brawlers even better thanks to the stun and dash. It is also amazing when combined with her super. You can use her super and then immediately gadget, extending her super's range and allowing her to catch enemies off guard. This gadget is also a great mobility tool, and has a relatively short cooldown.

Gadget 2: Finish Them!
"Maisie instantly reloads 1 ammo and increases the next Pressure Rocket damage by 30% of the target's missing HP."
Cooldown: 10 seconds
This gadget is overall inferior to her other one, as it is very awkward to try to use, as you need to hit her shot while the enemy has lost some HP, which can be hard due to her slow projectile speed. The ammo and short cooldown are alright, but it overall doesn't make much of a difference for Maisie unlike her other gadget.

Star Power 1: Pinpoint Precision
"Pressure rocket deals 20% more damage at max distance."
This star power is overall very unreliable, as you need to hit at the very edge of Maisie's range to get the extra damage, and this is very hard to do due to her slow projectile speed. Maisie is often used against close ranged brawlers, not as a marksman, further invalidating this star power.

Star Power 2: Tremors
"Enemies hit by Shockwave are also slowed down for 2 seconds."
This is an amazing star power, finally allowing Maisie to use auto-aim if her super connects. This star power renders almost any enemy hit by her super a free kill for her, as she can auto-aim her high damage projectile against them. It also leaves the enemies more vulnerable to her teammates, further increasing this star power's value.

Hypercharge: Aftermath
"Maisie's Super also shoots her basic attack projectiles around her to all directions."
Charge rate: 2 and 1/2 supers
Speed buff: 26%
Damage buff: 25%
Shield buff: 5%
Maisie's hypercharge fires out 6 of her main attack projectiles around her when she fires out her super. They do slightly less damage than her main attack projectile, but still charge up her super. This hypercharge is built for teamwipes, as combined with Disengage! Maisie can easily hit multiple enemies with it, dealing a ton of damage with the stat boosts and additional projectiles. It can also charge quite fast if you are against a good matchup, and can be incredibly deadly if used when used on an enemy right on top of you, as multiple projectiles will hit.

Gear selection:
Maisie has several good gear options for her. Damage is overall her best gear, and speed is also a great pickup as she can be very effective on bushy maps. Health and Shield can also be effective gears for her, and deciding which one is mainly personal preference.

Other good abilities to buy:

Best Matchups:
Maisie's main attack essentially makes most non-close range encounters very hard to deal with, so she needs to be going up against close range brawlers so she can charge up her super and hypercharge. She excels against brawlers that need to run into her to deal damage as her main attack can easily hit them, such as Mortis and Bull. She is also amazing against Frank due to her multiple ways to interrupt him and shred through his HP.

Best Counters:
Maisie is countered by most brawlers that outrange her, as it is a lot easier for them to hit their shots than Maisie. Most marksman and midrangers fall into this category, the best ones being Stu and Mina due to their high mobility. Jae-Yong is also great against her due to his constant speed boosts, allowing him and his team to easily dodge Maisie's main attack, not letting her charge her super. She is also countered by most throwers, as she has no way of securing a kill on them if they are behind a wall unless they are low HP and she has her super.

Best Game Modes:
Maisie's best mode is Showdown, as her kit is great for dealing with the many assassins that are played in this mode. She also deals a ton of damage in a 1v1 if you can hit her shots, and the additional power from the cubes makes her even more intimidating. For 3v3, her best mode is probably Brawl Ball, as many of her good matchups are played there, allowing her to cycle through her super and hypercharges to teamwipe the enemies.

Tips and Tricks:
-
Maisie's combo is by far the most important part of her kit. Auto-aim her super, then immediately gadget while moving in the direction you want to go to extend your super range to hit multiple enemies.
-
After hitting an enemy with Maisie's super, if you have Tremors equipped, you can guaranteed auto-aim an enemy if they don't have a faster than normal movement speed or a dash ability.
-
Maisie's effectiveness is heavily based on the enemy's skill level. Bad players won't be able to dodge your shots and will easily get hit by your super, and the opposite goes for good players. This makes Maisie only a good option at high ranks if you are against more than one good matchup, as it is nearly impossible to play her if the enemies are better than you.
-
Don't always use Disengage! for the combo attack, the stun is also very useful if an enemy gets on top of you, and allows her to win many more interactions. It is also great as a general dash skill, used to dodge shots and gain position.
-
Maisie's main attack has very high damage and a fast unload speed, making it very effective at killing enemies you catch off guard in bushes.
-
If you are trying to hit Maisie's main attack at a far range, aim 1 projectile to the left and 1 to the right immediately, as it makes it slightly harder for the enemies to dodge, and gives you a greater chance of hitting 1 of those shots.
-
To hit your shots more consistently with Maisie, try to focus on multiple enemies at once. Chances are, one of the enemies won't be paying attention to your shots, likely getting hit by them more often.
