Bea

"Piper wants nothing more than to be the local village baker who hands out pies, cookies and other sweet treats! Just don't ask about her past."

Class: Marksman

Rarity: Epic

Trio: Botanist with Rosa and Sprout

Best skin: Mega Beetle Bea

Mastery title: "Queen"

Bea is a long-ranged, high damage brawler that thrives on open maps against brawlers she can outrange. She can slow down enemies from a distance and can do massive damage with her main attack. However, she has low mobility and low HP.

Health: 2500 to 5000

Movement speed: Normal

Main Attack: Big Sting

"Bea sends out a long range shot that, upon landing, Supercharges her next shot to deal epic damage!"

Normal Damage: 800 to 1600

Charged Damage: 2200 to 4400

Range: Very Long

Reload speed: Very Fast

Bea's main attack is very unique, as she only has one ammo bar. This makes it so she can't unload more than one ammo at a time. For the attack itself, it is a very long ranged and relatively wide shot that travels slow, making it hard to hit at a distance, but easy to hit in mid or close range. It is very effective to auto aim it at those ranges. If you hit it, the next shot deals a bunch more damage, allowing Bea to have incredibly high sustained DPS, especially since she reloads her one ammo quite fast.

Super: Iron Hive

"Bea deploys a swarm of drones that move and turn like jets. They slow down any opponents caught in their path."

Damage: 7 x 100 to 200

Range: Long

The reticle for Bea's super is very inaccurate. It actually spreads out very far, allow for it to also be autoaimed pretty much all of the time. It doesn't deal much damage, but the slow is very strong, allowing for Bea to autoaim slowed targets to death with her huge damage.

Gadget 1: Honey Molasses

"Bea drops a beehive with a splash of sticky honey around it. The honey slows down enemies that step in it."

Cooldown: 20 seconds

Health: 1000(max level)

Duration: 34 seconds

This is a pretty good gadget for Bea, making it harder for aggressive brawlers to approach her and lasting a long time. It can also be used aggressively behind a wall for control, but you shouldn't be playing Bea on a map with too many walls. However, the best use for this gadget is tanking a heavy shot, as Bea is very squishy.

Gadget 2: Rattled Hive

"Bea unleashes 4 angry bees that circle away from her, dealing more damage the further they go(up to 1200 damage)."

Cooldown: 24 seconds

This is a great gadget for Bea, giving her insane area control at a massive range. Using this gadget forces enemies to retreat, as it does a lot of damage and covers a massive area. It is also very spammable, meaning it can be used off cooldown with almost no downsides.

Star Power 1: Insta Beaload

"Instantly Supercharge Bea's Big Sting one time if she misses a Supercharged shot."

This star power essentially gives you another chance to hit your charged shot with Bea, which may sound incredibly broken, however if you are able to get your charged shot with Bea, you should be able to hit it as well. This star power is still very useful, though, especially against fast brawlers.

Star Power 2: Honeycomb

"Bea receives a 30% shield while Big Sting is Supercharged."

This is a good star power for Bea, making her less squishy and allowing her to play more aggressive without being punished as hard. With this star power, it is recommended to hold on to your charged shot until you know you can hit it, as you won't die as easily while you are holding onto it.

Hypercharge: Protect The Queen

"Bea's Super projectiles split into 2 when at max distance (and on hit), increasing her Super's distance and spread even more."

Charge rate: 2 and 1/2 supers

Speed buff: 24%

Damage buff: 25%

Shield buff: 5%

Bea's hypercharge makes her super cover an absolutely massive area on the map, going around walls as well. This often leads to at least two of the enemies being slowed down and ready for Bea and her team to kill. The damage buff Bea gains is also insane, having her deal 5500 damage with her charged shot, which can chunk off the HP of any brawler.

Gear selection:

Shield gear overall the best gear for Bea, as she is incredibly squishy and the extra shield helps a ton. Both damage and gadget gear are very good on her as well, as she hits even harder with damage gear, and gadget gear allows her to spam Rattled Hive even more. Use damage gear on more close range maps or against more close range brawlers, and use gadget gear against long ranged brawlers and on more long ranged maps.

Other good abilities to buy:

Best Matchups:

Bea is great into brawlers that don't have mobility to escape her slows, and brawlers she can easily outrange on an open map. This leads to her being great against most tank counters or damage dealers, as they often don't have a ton of range or mobility and are sometimes played on open maps. Examples of this include Griff and Gale, as they don't have a ton of range and can't take down Bea easily unless they get in range. She also counters pretty much every tank on an open map as well due to her insane DPS, so she can destroy brawlers such as Doug who try to overwhelm teams with his HP and healing.

Best Counters:

Bea is countered by other marksmen, as it is very hard to land her shots on them since her shot is so slow, making it easy to dodge at long range. Nani is by far the best counter to her, as she can tank Bea's charged shot with her gadget and send it back to her, dealing a ton of damage. She is also heavily countered by throwers since she has no way to attack over walls and is very squishy, so brawlers such as Sprout and Larry are great against her as well.

Best Game Modes:

Even though Bea is a marksman, she isn't the best on Bounty and Knockout due to her projectile being very slow and hard to hit at long range. Her best modes are Hot Zone and Brawl Ball, as there are often shorter ranged brawlers played there even on open maps, and Bea can dominate on open maps against close ranged brawlers. She is excellent at holding control in Hot Zone and having a ton of damage and crowd control, which makes her useful on Brawl Ball as well.

Tips and Tricks:

  • Keep your distance with Bea similar to other marksmen, but don't have enemies linger at the tip of your range, as it is very hard to hit them if they are far away.

  • If Bea is attacking a slowed enemy, auto-aim guarantees a hit unless they have a faster movement speed or a mobility skill.

  • Try to stay in the open as much as possible with Bea, as it is easier to avoid getting jumped on and gives her more space for her to control.

  • If possible, pair Bea with brawlers who have abilities to break walls, such as Brock or Griff, as they can allow her to thrive on the map.

  • In the right circumstances on an open map, Bea can pretty much 1v3 the entire enemy if she outranges them and is chaining her supers properly.

  • If you have Bea's Honeycomb star power equipped, you should try to hold on to your charged shot until you are at the range where you know you can hit it, as it guarantees more value and isn't very punishing as any damage dealt to her is reduced.

  • Bea is an incredibly spammy brawler, so you need to know when you need to heal and when to keep spamming your attack. Heal when you are facing long ranged brawlers or when an assassin or tank is getting ready to dive you, and keep spamming when you need to hold control for your team and you know you can survive.
