Lou is a great counter to aggressive brawlers with his incredibly crowd control abilities, and excels at controlling areas as well. However, his projectiles require good aim to hit, and he doesn't deal the most damage.

Lou's attack fires out 3 snow cones at a very long range that deal moderate damage. Projectiles that hit an enemy will apply a freeze meter to them, and when the freeze meter is full, the enemy will be stunned for 1.5 seconds. It takes 7 projectiles to completely fill the meter, and it slowly decays over time. Although Lou's shots have a long range, they are very thin, requiring good aim to connect. He also has a very fast reload speed, rewarding players with skilled aim, as they can fire his shots more often.

Lou's super is one of the best in the game for control, as it covers a massive area for a long time. The slipping effect makes it incredibly easy to hit enemies, and enemies standing inside the super have the freeze meter fill up as well, allowing Lou to stun them more frequently, which is incredibly impactful. It deals almost no damage, however this damage allows for enemies to be revealed in bushes and not be able to heal.

Gadget 1: Ice Block

"Lou shields himself with ice, becoming invulnerable for 1 seconds."

Cooldown: 18 seconds

This gadget gives Lou a second of immunity, but he cannot move while immune. This is a situational gadget, as it is very easy for enemies to simply wait and line up their shots to hit Lou after the immunity, but it can be useful for tanking a high-damage attack.

Gadget 2: Cryo Syrup

"Instantly adds 50% freeze meter to opponents inside Lou's Super."

Cooldown: 18 seconds

This is an amazing gadget for Lou, making enemies caught inside his super much easier to freeze, often only taking 1 more shot. It also affects all enemies, giving it a ton of value every time Lou uses his super.

Star Power 1: Supercool

"Opponents standing on Lou's Super area get frozen 33% faster."

This is a decent star power for Lou, giving his super faster freezing time. However, most enemies caught inside the super are already guaranteed to be frozen with Cryo Syrup and Lou's main attack, only giving this star power a little bit of value.

Star Power 2: Hypothermia

"Opponents lose up to 50% of their damage based on how frozen they are from Lou's attacks."

This is a great star power for Lou, punishing enemies that have a freeze bar even if it isn't full. The damage reduction changes a ton of interactions, and is a great survivability buff for Lou and his team. You still often want to freeze people instead of leaving them with the damage reduction, but this star power is still very effective.

Hypercharge: Slushie Storm

"Lou's Super instantly freezes enemies in the area."

Charge rate: 3 and 1/3 supers

Lou has an amazing hypercharge, stunning all enemies inside his super's range when it lands. This is great because of Lou's huge super area, and it still functions as a normal super after the stun wears off. Lou can also get multiple supers during his hypercharge , as he can easily recharge his super off the stunned enemies.​​​

 

Epic gear: Super Charge

The Super Charge gear allows Lou to charge up his super in 1 less projectile.

Gear selection:

Lou's Super Charge gear is almost necessary for him, as cycling his super is crucial to his playstyle. For second gear options, damage and shield are both great choices to enhance Lou's stats. Vision is also decent for Lou due to his attack having multiple projectiles and a fast reload speed.

Best Matchups:

Lou is an amazing tank counter, as they get hit by his shots easier, which leads to them getting stunned and feeding Lou's super and hypercharge. Great examples of tanks Lou is amazing against include Draco, Sam, and Frank.

Best Counters:

Lou is hard countered by Poco, as his Protective Tunes gadget makes all of his crowd control abilities completely useless for a large percentage of the match. Lou is also countered by marksmen, as they outrange Lou and can easily dodge his thin shots, such as Belle and Bea.

Best Game Modes: 

Lou is one of the best brawlers in Hot Zone due to his super covering the whole zone and his hypercharge being able to easily hold or take back control. Lou is also a great brawler for Brawl Ball due to the abundance of tanks that are often played there, which Lou can counter very efficiently.​

Tips and Tricks:

• Lou's main attack has a very fast reload speed, but shoots very thin projectiles. This rewards players with good aim, so if that is your specialty, Lou will be a great tank counter for you.

• Using Lou's Cryo Syrup gadget immediately after you throw your super down is often ideal, as enemies will likely not be in the super unless they are caught in it. The half freeze combined with the freezing over time from Lou's super allows Lou to fully freeze enemies with only one full clip, allowing him and his teammates to secure the kill.

• Since Lou's attack is hard to hit, cycling his supers is essential to his gameplay, as skilled enemies will be able to easily dodge his shots. Securing a stun on brawlers caught in his super often lets him cycle it, so make sure you catch at least one enemy inside your super.

• Lou's Ice Block gadget can occasionally be a great surprise gadget on long range maps, as Lou will often not get his super on these maps, and the immunity can allow Lou to survive interactions he otherwise would not have.

• Lou's Hypothermia star power is a great star power, providing value to Lou's freeze meter even if it isn't full. It gives Lou and his team a solid amount of extra survivability, and messes up enemy damage calculations.

• While Lou's super deals almost no damage, it still stops enemy healing and reveals them in bushes.
