Squeak

"Squeak is a blob of happy energy who loves his creator, Ruffs. He's a joy to be around, at least if you are unaware that he's made of dog slobber"

Class: Controller

Rarity: Mythic

Trio: Starr Force with Ruffs and Eve

Best skin: Nerd Squeak

Mastery title: "is an accident"

Squeak is an amazing brawler for controlling areas, as his abilities revolve around dealing high splash damage at a decently long range after a delay. However, this delay makes him susceptible to getting burst down by aggressive brawlers before his attacks can deal damage.

Health: 3600 to 7200

Movement speed: Normal

Main Attack: Sticky Blomb

"Squeak's sticky blobs of goo are unstable, and blow up with a big splash and an ouch! They attach to any opponent they hit outright."

Damage: 1160 to 2320

Range: Long

Reload Speed: Slow

Squeak's attack is a mine that covers a large area and explodes after a delay, dealing a lot of damage. The projectiles stick to walls an enemies, making enemies hit by the initial projectile guaranteed to take damage. Any enemy that is hit by an additional projectile has the current projectile explode instantly, slightly increasing his burst damage. These attributes make his attacks great for control, as he doesn't need to hit an enemy to force them back from the explosion area. However, any brawler that gets close can easily dodge the explosion and initial projectile, as the projectile speed is relatively slow.

Super: Big Blob

"Squeak lobs a blob that blows up with aplomb! The explosion of goo sends six smaller Sticky Blombs in all directions."

Damage: 6 x 1000 to 2000

Range: Long

Squeak's super is a projectile that goes over walls and splits into 6 smaller main attacks covering less area and dealing less damage. The initial projectile takes the same amount of time no matter where it is aimed. His super is great if you are able to hit the projectiles, however it is relatively inconsistent unless you perfectly predict the enemy's movement, as the direction the blombs travel is slightly awkward. If the blombs don't hit an enemy, they will almost never deal damage, as the area they cover is incredibly small.

Gadget 1: Windup

"Squeak's next Sticky Blomb deals 50% more damage and has 100% longer range."

Cooldown: 14 seconds

This is an amazing gadget for Squeak, allowing him to snipe enemies and deal a ton of damage with just one shot. It also has a relatively short cooldown, allowing for it to be spammed very effectively. This gadget heavily increases Squeak's viability on longer ranged maps.

Gadget 2: Residue

"Squeak's next Sticky Blomb leaves a residue area behind after exploding, slowing down enemies and giving allies sight into bushes for 6 seconds."

Cooldown: 20 seconds

This is also a great gadget for Squeak, providing amazing area control for a long time. It is best used on choke points or areas the enemy is forced to walk through, as the slow makes it incredibly easy to hit shots on them, making enemies that try to walk through it an almost guaranteed kill. Most enemies know this and stay away from it, making Squeak an even better controller.

Star Power 1: Chain Reaction

"Each opponent within the area of a Sticky Blomb's explosion increases the Blomb's damage by 15%."

This is a great star power for Squeak, as it also increases his main attack damage if he hits just a single enemy. You can mostly treat this star power as a flat 15% damage buff, which is great for Squeak. Additionally, it gives much more value if an attack is able to hit multiple enemies, dealing a ton of damage to every enemy caught inside.

Star Power 2: Super Sticky

"Secondary Sticky Blombs from Squeak's Super also slow down opponents for 4 seconds."

This is also an amazing star power for Squeak, giving his super much more value. Enemies that are hit by the bombs are slowed for an incredibly long time, making them much easier for Squeak and his teammates to kill. Even though his super is relatively inconsistent, this star power allows for it to get much more value.

Hypercharge: Bouncy Blob

"The Sticky Blombs from Squeak's Super now bounce and split one more time."

Charge rate: 2 and 1/2 supers

Squeak's hypercharge essentially gives him 2 supers in 1, firing out a ton of blombs. Additionally, after bouncing, the projectile deals 1 blomb worth of damage if it passes over an enemy. This hypercharge massively increases the range of Squeak's super, and allows for his super to cover more area and have a greater chance of dealing damage.

Gear selection:

Squeak is great with the gadget cooldown gear, as both of his gadgets are incredibly strong and can be spammed off cooldown. Damage and shield are both excellent second gear options for their increase in damage and HP.

Best build:

Other good abilities to buy:

Best Matchups:

Squeak is great into turret brawlers, as his attacks can hit turrets even if they are placed behind walls. Brawlers such as Penny, 8-Bit, and Jessie are especially vulnerable, as they always place their turrets behind walls, which Squeak can hit unlike most brawlers.

Best Counters:

Squeak is best countered by assassins, as the delay with his attacks make him pretty much unable to burst them down before Squeak can kill them. Brawlers such as Buzz, Darryl, and Lily can easily burst down Squeak at close range, and they all have solid HP, allowing them to survive Squeak's damage even after he is killed.

Best Game Modes:

Squeak's best modes is Hot Zone, as he has amazing control abilities to lock down and take back the zone. He is also great in Knockout and Bounty with his Windup gadget, as he is one of the few brawlers with both long range and control abilities, allowing for him to push enemies back effectively if he is dodging shots.

Tips and Tricks:

  • With Squeak's main attack, you don't have to hit enemies with the initial projectile. Just placing the shot in the general direction of the enemy forces them out of a large area, or else they will take a large amount of damage.

  • Try to be unpredictable with Squeak's super, as most enemies will be able to easily see where it will land and simply move out of the way. If you place the super on an unsuspecting enemy, they will likely have multiple projectiles stuck to them, dealing more damage.

  • Squeak is best used on maps with several choke points, as they allow for him to take advantage of his control abilities.

  • Squeak's Residue gadget is great in both choke points and if it is able to hit an enemy, as they will guaranteed be slowed, making it much easier for Squeak and his teammates to kill them.

  • Try to conserve your ammo with Squeak, as he has a slow reload speed, and often needs all the ammo he can get whenever there is an aggressive brawler.

  • Windup is a great gadget for securing kills, as it has incredibly long range and damage. However, it takes good aim to connect on an enemy.

  • You can also use Squeak's gadget at the start of the game to establish some control over the map.
